Product Description
SweaterMaker for Windows lets you choose the features of your machine-knitted sweater, and then performs all the tedious shaping calculations for you. Knit your sweater entirely from the drawings SweaterMaker makes of each piece, or follow the beginner-knitter level written instructions. Instructions include row-by-row needles in work position. No more guesswork at the armholes, or neck and shoulder shaping! No more getting lost if you are interrupted at the machine. If your machine's row counter works, you will always know exactly what needles will be in work position.
SweaterMaker walks you through knitting each piece of your garment step by step. You may knit the front, back, and sleeves separately and then sewing them together later, as with a set-in or raglan sleeve. Or you may knit the sweater all in one big piece, as with the sideways Dolman. In both cases, SweaterMaker tells you when and how many stitches to increase, decrease, shortrow, or bind off. It tells you how to knit the neckline and assemble the pieces, finishing the garment all the way down to the final seam.
Customize Your Sweater the Way You Want It--or Use Built-in Standards
SweaterMaker gives you plenty of flexibility and built-in options while you design your sweater. You specify the following options:
* Body Style: set-in sleeves, dropped shoulder, raglan, saddle shoulder, horizontal and vertical Dolman (bat wing) sleeves, or round yoke
* Neck Style: crew, V-neck, crew with placket, or square
* Front Style: pullover, cardigan. Complete with button and buttonhole instructions for the cardigan!
* Hem Style (along the waist and wrist): 1x1 rib, garter bar, machine crochet, picot, plain, popcorn, and Princess Di hem
* Trim Style (along the neck): 1x1 single-thickness rib, 1x1 double-thickness rib, pie crust, folded wisteria leaf, rolled edge, 2x2 with roll collar
* Size: 22 built-in (men's, women's, and child's), plus whatever customized sizes you like. You can even save your custom sizes so you only have to enter the measurements once!
* Stitch and Row Gauges: knit with your machine, your tension, and your yarn, and SweaterMaker will calculate the number of stitches, rows, increases, and decreases for your sweater. Automatically!
SweaterMaker comes with an easy-to-read manual. Two tutorials walk you through designing practice sweaters, show pictures of all the measurements on each garment, and list the dimensions of all the standard sizes the program uses.
